Biography

Dr. Campbell began her Columbus State tenure as provost and chief academic officer in January 2025 following a higher education career that spanned three decades and tenure-track faculty and leadership appointments at the departmental, college and university levels. Her teaching and research focus in public relations, communication and integrated marketing has benefited from her extensive corporate and consulting experience. At Appalachian State, where she served as dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts from June 2021 until her Columbus State service, she oversaw a college with more than 3,500 students, 475 employees and a $49 million budget across seven academic departments.

She holds a bachelor’s in communication management from Missouri State University, a master’s in organizational communication from the University of Southern Illinois, and a doctorate in marketing communication and media studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
